About Tema

Maurits is Founder and CEO of Tema ETFs. Maurits previously worked at Goldman Sachs, in natural resource M&A, Vitol Group, in crude oil trading, and Kingsway Capital, investing in public equities. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Middlebury College.

Yuri is Chief Investment Officer at Tema ETFs. He has over 17 years investment experience primarily from Majedie Asset Management where he managed UK and global equity portfolios. As co-manager of the Majedie UK Income Fund, he helped build the fund from start-up stage, raising several billion in assets. He holds degrees in Economics from University of Cambridge and LSE (distinction), as well as a degree in Bioscience Enterprise from University of Cambridge. Yuri is a CFA charter holder.

Devan joins Tema from Global X ETFs, where he served as Regional Director and Vice President of Distribution, responsible for distribution efforts on the West Coast since 2016. Mr. O’Dowd began his career as part of the Advisor Sales Team in the Morningstar Development Program, the Chicago-based investment research firm and previously worked for Cedar Capital, an early leader in the ETF strategist space. He received his BA in Political Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana – Champaign, with additional studies in Environmental Economics and Law.

Ceri joined Tema from Direxion ETFs, where he served as Senior Vice President, Web Strategy & Innovation. Prior to Direxion, he ran the Digital Transformation Program at State Street Global Advisors (now State Street Investment Management). He brings deep expertise in building and transforming digital ecosystems, having begun his career on the agency side supporting prominent companies across a range of industries. He holds a Master of Business from Cardiff Metropolitan University.

David Song is the Head of Healthcare and Investment Partner at Tema ETFs. David has led biotechnology and healthcare investment teams throughout his extensive 25-year career at Rockefeller Capital Management, Millennium and Balyasny. He studied Economics and Biochemistry at Yale, is a medical doctor and has a PhD in Applied Economics from Wharton. David is a CFA charter holder.

Chris Semenuk is an Investment Partner at Tema ETFs. Chris is a global fund manager with more than 25 years of experience, 20 of which was spent managing a $5 bln global equities fund at TIAA, a leading US based financial services company. Chris managed the fund since inception and raised several billion dollars in assets over that time period. Chris has a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Union College in New York State.

Kaimon Chung is the Head of Alternatives and Investment Partner at Tema ETFs. Kaimon has close to two decades of experience covering the Financials sector with a focus on alternatives at Evercore, Nomura, and Oppenheimer. Kaimon holds an M.B.A. degree from Stern NYU with concentration in Corporate Finance and Quantitative Finance, a B.S. from SUNY Buffalo with concentration in Corporate Finance and Management Information Systems. Kaimon is a CFA charter holder.

Hong Yi Chen is an Investment Partner at Tema ETFs. Hong has 15 years of investment experience, primarily at Majedie Asset Management and Liontrust Asset Management, where he managed US and global funds with over $1 billion in assets under management. He also has experience as a long/short equity analyst. Hong holds a degree in Economics from Cambridge University and is a CFA charter holder.

Mike is an experienced ETF sales professional who has spent over six years working with RIAs and wealth advisory clients. Before joining Tema, Mike spent over three years at Columbia Threadneedle Investments and three years at Putnam Investments.

Will began his career at Invesco in 2021 in the investment communications team, before moving to European passive fixed-income ETF house, Tabula Investment Management. With his primary focus on day-to-day operations, trading, capital markets and portfolio management, Will later contributed to the launch of new active ETFs upon Tabula's acquisition by Janus Henderson Investors. Will holds a Bachelor's in Modern Languages and Cultures from Durham University, and has the IMC certification. 

Cassie joins the Tema team as an Institutional Marketing Manager, bringing with her a strong background in ETF marketing. Before joining Tema, she served as Senior Marketing Manager at Direxion ETFs, where she led strategic initiatives to support product growth and advisor engagement. Prior to that, Cassie was the Marketing Director at Concord Wealth Management, guiding financial professionals through building and elevating their personal brands. Her career began in event management at the iconic Fenway Park, where she worked as a Catering Sales Manager. Cassie holds a degree in Marketing from Assumption University, where she was also the captain and leading player on the NCAA Women’s Tennis team.

Yihua Mark Ma is a Healthcare Investment Analyst at Tema ETFs. Mark has four years’ experience from PharmaVentures, a life science corporate finance advisory firm, and LXL Capital in healthcare investment research. Mark holds Joint Honors Degree in Biochemistry with Management from Imperial College London. He has passed the CFA Level I exam.
